Hanacure Review

I tried the Hanacure Face Mask and here’s what it did for my skin.

If you’ve been on social media and are in any way interested in skincare, you’ve most likely stumbled across the Hanacure All in One Facial mask. The Kardashians, January Jones and Molly Simms have all posted themselves transforming from Hollywood beauty to wrinkly, zombie-faced freak.

But here’s the thing – Hanacure promises to deliver a flawless complexion in minutes. And Drew Barrymore totally agrees, saying it made her look 10 years younger.

Reviews

And it has some pretty lofty support too.

It’s been heralded as the biggest news in skincare by Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Harper’s Bizarre, Vanity Fair, Marie Claire and even Men’s Journal.

Is it too good to be true? I had to find out!

How does it work?

The pack comes with multiple pieces – the serum, the gelling solution and the brush.

By mixing the lifting serum (small vial) with the gelling solution (foil pack), it creates a compound designed to absorb impurities and toxins in your skin.

When that compound comes in contact with CO2 in the air, it tightens your skin and pulls those impurities out. Botanical extracts are said to sooth and calm the skin. It also contains peptides to reduce the signs of aging and deliver a flawless-looking complexion.

Directions

Start with a clean face; free of makeup, sunscreen and any other skin care products. Begin by lifting the white tab off the top of the serum vial. It also has a second metal lid that also needs to be removed before you reach the contents.

Slowly peel back one of edge of the foil lid to the dotted line and pour the serum into the pot (I had to tap a few times). Close the lid back over and give a good shake for about 20 seconds. You can actually feel is start to congeal.

Using the brush, gently paint the gel-like solution all over your face, neck and back of hands. Do not put on eyes or on lips. I was pretty careful around the bottom of my nose too.

Now, you have to wait 20-30 minutes, or until it’s dry. I used a handheld fan to move it along, so only needed 20 minutes before removing.

Ok, it was weird. Not painful or itchy - which I’ve heard quite a few people suffered from - but just plain weird. Within a few minutes everything started to tighten. By minute 14, I could no longer move any part of my face. I was actually taping a video for YouTube and my camera dude (aka, my other half) loved the fact that I couldn’t say a word, as that doesn’t happen very often.

After 20 minutes I rinsed it off with warm (never hot!) water. I was surprised how quickly it came off. No scrubbing or rubbing, it just gently rinsed away.

Results

Before I give my final thoughts, let’s look at the cost. A single use mask retails for $29 and a 4-pack is $110. Hanacure recommends using it twice a week. Ouch.

So, do I think it’s worth it? Let’s have a look at the before and after photos. These were taken moments before and after I I applied the mask.

So what do you think? Do you see any difference? Does my skin look tighter or lifted? Is it any brighter? Are my pores any smaller? Nah. My skin is soft - I’ll give it that - but my exfoliating cleanser that costs £6 will do that too.

To be honest, I cannot understand how so many reputable organisations hail this as the new king. Now, maybe it’s because I didn’t use the recommended amount. But for $220/month I’d much rather a get a new bag, thank you very much.
